You can do this most of the elements dialer, messaging, notification panel, etc. And there are tons of applications available in android and that too for the sole purpose of customizing your device.

IOS lets user install applications only through App store whereas Android allows users to install application from various sources other than Play store. In fact, there are many replacement apps available even for play store namely Aptoide, 1Mobile Market, Mobogenie, etc. User can even download the required application files usually in the form of apks from any website and can install it directly in their smartphone. Though there is a high risk associated by installing applications from unknown or third-party websites it also leaves the decision making authority to the users.

Apple charges $99/year to join the IOS development program. No charges are collected from free app developers and for paid apps, Apple takes 30% of the revenue. Though Google follows the same methodology in the case of paid apps, a developer has to pay only $25 in order to get a developer account on Google Play that too with lifetime validity.

Other features that are in favor of android are

·         Voice assistant Google Now is getting better and better compare to Siri.

·         More number of free apps as well as games is available in Android compared to IOS.

·         Some features like Split Screen and Widgets are only available in Android and they are extremely useful.

·         Some people choose Android in order to be a part of the large user community and they can transfer files and applications among their friends easily.

For these reasons Android IS and WILL be an ever growing community.
